For The Curious Ones
I’m weird, I’m strange, and I’m annoying, but I’ve got friends and family who accept me for who I am and I couldn’t be luckier.
Well, my sidebar already says a lot about me, so I guess this will just have more useless information you guys want to read for some reason. :D
Hmmm, what to say about me? Well first off, HI! My name is Rhian (Ree-Ann). I’m currently 15 yrs old, and a Freshman at FHS. I’m Filipino, but a tiny bit Chinese because of my great-grandpa. I’m born and raised in a little city close to Sacramento, CA (NO! I will not tell you my address stalker ;P). I love my parents with all my heart, and I have a twin bro who may seem quiet, but is the most hilarious person ever! My friends are all strange and wonderful, while my best friend is the total opposite of me, but we get along for some crazy reason. My hobbies basically all relate to Visual/Performing Arts. I used to do ballet, jazz, and hip hop, but went on hiatus for singing, did theater and choir as a side, and even a little bit of sketching and fashion designing for my teddy bear, then left all to pursue guitar and never turned back, did photography for a while and most recently started film and animation. I’m a hopeless romantic, who’s never had a boyfriend, never had a first kiss, and never had a first date. (11.17.12 UPDATE: Sup guys, yeah kinda got my first boyfriend now, and kinda had my first kiss already, yup. BUT! Keep reading what I had to say because it really is what I still think about relationships… take it as my words of wisdom for those who were in my position. :D) It kills me knowing there’s no one I get to just run to and hug forever, I wish I could have a boyfriend to experience what it’s like falling in love, but at the same time, I will never settle. I have a friend who’s had a thousand boyfriends, and is never happy, and I will never be that. I would rather wait for the right guy, than go for whoever knocks at my door. Understand that I’ve had my heart broken by guys I’ve never dated, I’ve gone to bed crying because I think something’s wrong with me, but there’s a saying that’s always gotten me through, “God’s Looking Down On You Right Now Saying I’m Saving Someone Special For That Girl.”
My dream is to be a musician, and have a well enough lifestyle where I could have a loving husband and raise wonderful kids. I’d have an amazing band, being able to travel the world with my best friends, all while using my fame to bring attention to environmental issues and animal cruelty. Obviously that’s not going to happen. At first I considered being a Pediatrician, helping kids feel better, but I realized I’m deathly afraid of surgery, and to become a Pediatrician, I have to go through courses that involve that. I’m now considering Film/Animation (hopefully Disney Pixar), I’d still be far enough in the industry where I could know people with fame who could bring attention to those causes, I wouldn’t be famous enough to where I could live a normal life, and have a good enough income to purchase more music equipment and keep playing. I still don’t know what I’m going to choose, but hey, I’m just a Freshman, I’ll figure it out. For now, I’m keeping straight A’s, honors courses, CSF, Yearbook Editor, S.T.E.M. Media student, hospital volunteer, and a jillion music/dance clubs, this way I could keep my options open.
So by my URL name, you probably guessed, I LOVE GUITARS!!! And no, I’m not the best, I am nowhere near the best, but I’m getting there! I will never stop learning, and nothing will discourage me, I will be the best when I die, but for now, I’m just trying. I want to prove that girls are just as good as guys, and so far, I’m doing pretty good at it, no one’s told me I suck… yet. ;D I started off wanting to be a singer at the age of 2, and I was pretty good at it, until I stopped practicing at the age of 7, because, well, I gave up everything for guitar. Every generation of my dad’s side has had a guitar player, and my grandma was the first female guitarist, and it’s my job to continue where she left off, which is why I’m her favorite ;D (it also might have to do with I’m her only granddaughter, everyone else is a guy but…). It all started in 3rd grade when my cousin and bro was playing kingdom hearts. I was looking around his room and found a fake guitar, he showed me it was for “Guitar Hero II” and showed me how to play. The whole night, I played Gun N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” When I went home, my dad gave me his CD with the song on it and it was the only song I listened to the entire month. That Christmas, I got my first guitar, a Pink Barbie guitar from Toys R Us. Thus began my musical journey. :D Okay, so no I didn’t learn how to play guitar with that hunk of plastic. After my parents saw I was serious, my dad went out and bought me a Kid’s sized Fender Squier Acoustic. When I turned 12, my guitar teacher told me I out grew it, so my mom purchased me a Taylor Acoustic (my favorite out of my guitars, YES I RECOMMEND!!!). Christmas of 2010, I earned enough money to buy and electric so I got a Black Fender Stratocaster, while my mom bought me a Fender Mustang II Amp. I gave away my Pink Barbie guitar to our landscaper, so those are my guitars… for now. ;D
And now enters the randomness! When I was little, I wanted to marry Obi-Wan Kenobi. My dream job was a Rock Star Guitarist Actress Fashion Designer Dancer Firefighter Disney Princess of all Fire Type Pokemon Master. My favorite bands are Paramore, Green Day, and The Beatles. Based on the previous paragraph, yes Slash is my Guitar Hero, but John Mayer showed me guitars aren’t just for rocking out blazing fast solos, which is why acoustic finger picking are some of my favorite songs to play. My bro is a Beatles fanatic and dared me to read the entire Wikipedia page for them, which is why I know almost every fact about them, go ahead, try me. I love sports, but I’m not athletic and I have asthma which sucks. If you ask me to play on your team, you better bet I’ll give 100% effort, but don’t be disappointed. I did play on the girls’ basketball team in 5th grade, and I plan on joining powderpuff (girls’ flag football). Along with Asthma, I have quite a few of medical problems, but none that have disabled me in any way, so I’m extremely lucky for that, but I do have a scar on my left eyelid from surgery when I was tiny, I have terribly bad eyesight, none of my teeth came out naturally all had to be extracted, I have braces due to an overbite, and I’m going to have surgery when I’m 16 because I have flexible flat foot. I’m at a constant battle with loving food and wanting to be skinny. I soon realized it’s not about being skinny it’s about being healthy. So I just do simple things, add some fruit and vegies with my meal, only eat half of the chocolate, take the stairs instead of elevator, and drink more water and green tea w/ honey. I hate scary movies, and love classic Disney movies. If I could go on a first date, I’d rather it be extremely fun with a nice guy (GO-CARTS!), than something romantic with the most popular guy in school. My favorite colors are Purple, Black, and Green. My favorite number is 21. My favorite Letter is R. My favorite TV shows are Glee, Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother The Office, Friends, Phineas and Ferb, Drake & Josh, Ned’s Declassified, Phil of the Future, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. I’m addicted to Youtube, so yes, I’m a huge fan of YTF. I love love love Wong Fu Productions and Quest Crew (D-Trix & Ryanimay <3). Victim of nerfighteria and coolliking I am. Proud member of Gublernation (LOOK IT UP!). I’m lovin’ the Brits which explains why I’m a huge fan of Joe Brooks, Charlieissocoolike, Nerimon, and of course, Le Beatles. And I have an unhealthy obsession with Big Time Rush. :D Carlos is my fave but I still love Kendall, James, Logan, AND Dustin.
